I have loved being in the kitchen for as long as I can remember. I
have fond memories of trying recipes from a children’s cookbook,
and of baking cakes and muffins from my mother’s cookbooks. I
remember being 12 and watching a neighbor decorate a teddy bear
cake and being very impressed.
When my son was a baby, I signed up for a basic cake decorating
class just for a night out. I was immediately hooked. After the
class, I started scouring the internet to learn more about cake
decorating and sugar artistry. Since then I have taken advanced
classes with nationally & internationally recognized sugar artists
and I continue to learn new techniques.
I am a proud member of the International Cake Exploration
Societe’ (currently an alternate state rep for the Michigan Chapter),
the Mid Michigan Sugar Artists and the Jackson Sugar Pipers Cake
Club.
